Sneaky Peat's Unlike Hickory, Mesquite & other flavor-wood chips, Sneaky Peat comprises a multitude of aromatic herbs & plants, naturally preserved & compacted in rain-soaked Irish peat bogs over millennia It is primarily this rich concentration of plants, which gives Sneaky Peat its unique & distinctive qualities for creating an inviting atmosphere & for flavoring food Because Sneaky Peat vapors so well for aroma & taste, considerably smaller quantities than with wood chips are used & there is no bitterness or unpleasant grill-side wood smoke. Use for home/restaurant aroma & when grilling/BBQ'ing foods - complements & enhances most marinades, bastings & rubs. |

Sneaky
Peat's Although Irish Peat burns clean enough to qualify as a smokeless fuel in Ireland, especially when used for hearth fires, the best aroma & flavor from Sneaky Peat results from ensuring gentle smouldering Soaking Sneaky Peat is not necessary as sufficient moisture is retained from our drying process to packing. However, for extensive smokin' applications treat like wood chips if preferred. To prolong vaporing times & help prevent flaming or charcoaling of pucks over excessive heat, simply microwave pucks in water for 1½ minutes or until water has boiled for about 15 seconds. Use with most hearths, smoking pans, outdoor grills & smokers - whether wood, briquette, charcoal, electric, or gas-fired. |

HOME TURFTM NATURAL BLACK PEAT SODS
They can also be used on open gas hearths having a chimney or extraction flue. |
HEARTH SODS: Usage: One 6" sod for up to 5 evenings is sufficient for lasting aroma from domestic hearth fires, using wood, charcoal, composite briquettes, firelogs or gas. Place sod on hearth grate from either front edge pointing one end towards settled coals. Adjust proximity to heat so as to smoulder gently & not catch fire. Ensure any smoke is normally extracted. If grate bars are too widely spaced, place sod on piece of close-weave wire mesh, or metal dish so one end protrudes near fire.. With gas-fired hearths it may be necessary to similarly stabilize sod on a wire mesh but above a baking tray or metal plate to retain dropping/residue ash. To prevent initial flaming with large hearth fires, sods are easily soaked before use by immersing in water and microwaving for 2-3 minutes |
